Travel adventure holidays in March that you will not forget.
If you are searching for adventures, a choice to go to Africa is a no-brainer. One of the most iconic places that are in bucket lists of many travelers is Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It is Africa’s highest mountain with Uhuru Peak 19,340ft (5,895m) high, which is around two-thirds of Everest’s summit of 29,029ft (8,848m). Kili’s peak is not for cowards, but if you set a goal to get there, you can achieve it. A big advantage of this route is that you do not need any technical climbing skills, only being fit enough to hike up the mountain for about 6 hours a day.
There are many different routes to the summit lasting usually 7 to 10 days. The most popular is Macheme, which starts in the rainforest, then goes through moorlands, alpine deserts, volcanic wilderness and finally to the snow peak. The beginning of March is a good time to start your journey because after that begins a rainy season.
Son Doong cave, Vietnam
If you are not afraid of caves and adventures, you should consider taking a tour to Son Doong. This is the biggest cave in the world; so big that you could land a jetliner inside if somebody let you. Son Doong is almost 5 miles long and 660ft high and beside its gigantic stalactites, it has a river beach, jungle, and even clouds. The cave was discovered by locals in 1991 but was not fully explored till 2010. It is located in Vietnam near Laos border in Quang Binh national park. There are two big obstacles that you need to overcome on your way to Son Doong. The first one is that you need to be fit enough for 5-days-long trek through jungles. The second one is that there are only 500 permits per year to the cave. If you are not lucky this time, try Hang Va cave, which has been recently discovered in the same area.
Kerepakupai Vená, Venezuela
Kerepakupai is the highest waterfall in the world, and getting there requires a lot of courage. Of course, you can fly over it like Jimmie Angel, a US aviator, who gave the waterfall its English name, but the true adventure is to get there by boat and through the jungle. Angel Falls is situated 1000 miles southeast of Caracas, Venezuela’s capital. In March, the dry season ends and the Churun River is getting back its waters. Prepare for a long way to the waterfall, but do not worry, you will be rewarded with tremendous views afterward.
Rocky Mountains, Canada
If you are planning to have travel adventure holidays in March, you should consider Canada. Canada, which is the 2nd largest country in the world, bewitches with its vastness; and the Rocky Mountains are the iconic adventure spot. You have definitely seen this place on Canadian postcards, but it is better to witness it with your own eyes. The weather will be still chilly in March, so prepare to hike with your warm clothes on. The most popular travel path starts in Alberta’s Banff and goes all the way to Jasper National Park. Except for terrific hiking trails, you can try whitewater rafting, horseback riding and peak climbing on your way.
